Processing nicely Andre. Are you going to reinforce it with tape or glasfiber cloth?
Happy 2015

I've been told no real need. Pretty decent foam.

I did try it out in the yard this afternoon.

Can't wait to fly.

Maiden Flight

Ok this plane is a blast to fly.

1/4 power take off with full flaps.

The pilot was having to much fun...

Yep. I'll have to weight it up.

Did move the battery forward on the 2nd flight but it does like co-ordinated turns for sure.

The flaps were fun but I was having an issue with their timing so I opted to not mess to much with them in flight.

Was very cold.

You don't need skis

So the FunCub will do just fine without skis.

Despite the silly temperatures and high winds I had a blast.
Full flaps touch and goes. I could match the wind and just hold the FunCub in place.

Did a few landings where I had no forward movement just up and down.

I think next time I go out I'll have to try and put a marker down in the snow and try and land on target.

I did notice today with the strong winds I wanted more nose weight.

- We must be crazy. By the time we got out the winds came down but it was cold enough for my iPhone to stop working.

- Batteries are kept warm.

- I finally had a chance to fly a Skipper today.

- Very sporty plane.

- A Canadian and a FunCub.
IMG_2598.jpg

- No need for skis.
IMG_2599.jpg

- The FunCub is a very capable plane.

Dude Where Did My Plane Go

Hello winter camouflage!

A few new issues on the FunCub today.
The main gear are "springy" so I broke 2 props on landing.
I did add more rubber bands and that seems to help.
So next I need to steal some hair bands from my wife.

The 2nd issue the tail gear broke lose from the rudder control.
All minor but still it was a lot of fun to pilot the cub around in the snowy conditions.

Spring time update

So a few weeks ago the FC started flying funny.

Pulling to one side and darn near impossible to control.
In fact I nosed over several times breaking a 12x6 prop last weekend.

That foam is tough stuff ;)

I went back over all the controls and then decided to add more nose weight by moving the battery forward and the esc aft of the battery.

Yesterday I had a chance to test that setup out and the FunCub was back to her old self.

Just was nice to goof around with this plane. Maybe I should paint it one day :)

So windy the plane nosed over while I tried to taxi back ;)

Spring Is Here

And the FunCub is ready to play.

I admit I was little worried about this plane for a while.
She was flying strange but then I moved some kit around and it feels much better.

Now I need to busy and paint the body before FF2015.
I decided the FC is coming with me for the trip to Ohio.
1. Fun plane to fly in all conditions.
2. I know it will land at the Furey Field with no issue.
3. I can light it up and fly at night.

In fact the last batch of LED's showed up so I'm all set.

I still intend to paint the plane Army Green on the top but leave all the bottom surfaces white.

No more floppy gear

The other night I finally took care of my one of my pet peeves with the FunCub.

That floppy landing gear.

IMG_4126.JPG IMG_4534.JPG IMG_4536.JPG

To fix the problem I used some 3mm piano wire and simply bent is round the stock setup.
A little hot glue, zip ties and shrink wrap are used to hold it all tight but the results were nice to see.

No more prop strikes. I'll field test the upgrade shortly.

In the mean time. I've really started flying this plane harder ;)
