CHALLENGE: Build a plane using a car motor

#1
Get any materials you need, then build a plane with a car motor and somehow connect a plane esc to the motor. I'm sure this would be amazingly fast.

Hm. I'm not sure if it'll work this way. RC cars are inrunners with higher RPM, but less torque. Don't they usually have a gearing mechanism?

I'm actually running a car motor in one of my sailplanes right now. It's set up direct drive, but since I set that model up, I've learned that there are better options out there. A smaller inrunner with a gearbox is the best setup. Lighter, same watts, but a better climb because you can swing a bigger prop. If you're interested in flat out speed, though, direct drive is the better option.
