FTFC20 - Build-Ruary (Build Challenge)

As for me...
I build Whoovs. 15 of 'em with the scouts. During our annual camp-in. After the camp in.. I'm pooped. so I did Jack-all despite the Picture perfect weekend.
I designed a special whoov. if it works... I will be adding it as an ancillary build. Maybe, or it might be a full blow deal. I installed the top plate too early, and tried to shoe-horn the electronic in... which means I pulled out some wires. they needed solder, and I had 12 scouts to attend. I think I will get to it tonight. If it works, I will be posting this as a resource. Here's a sneek peek:

Late as always, but I have started on the Bloody Wonder, and got the wing cut and glued up last night.

That'd be awesome! I pretty much wing it when I scratch build, especially something that small. I just started with a piece of foam and a picture of a comet and started hacking away! 🤣

It's less than 2/3rds of a sheet of foam. Gross weight, including battery, is only 100 grams. Needs to be pretty light for the little 820's to work. The fuselage is rolled foam board, no formers, about 1" wide x 1 1/2" tall and 16" long. The wing is 20"

After this build-ruray I may try to rebuild it and actually make some plans. This one turned out pretty nice despite being very difficult because of its tiny size. It would look amazing if it were about 20% bigger, mostly to fit the electronics better and to be able to step up to a 2s battery and brushless mini quad motors. My hope would be to make it a fun little sub 250 fpv platform that looks nice too!

After build-ruray would be great, I've got a lot of planes to complete by Feb 29! I have a dead quad with 4 820 motors, 8 3" props, a micro rcvr, and a micro brushed 1S ESC. So I'm all set for the electronics. Now I need to find my pictures of Grosvenor House to get the decals correct.
It is amazing that the original Grosvenor House and Black Magic are still around after 86 years

Amazing indeed! You just have to compare cars from that era to appreciate how "modern" the DH.88 looked. It looks more at home in a WW2 fighter/escort line up than what you'd expect in the 30's!

I’m nearing a maiden with my @BATTLEAXE kitfox. My rimfire motor arrived today and so I just need to finish up some electronic work and get her painted! Been crazy busy lately so not much plane time unfortunately. I hope to get it maidened by the end of this week but it might be next week.

Alright so let's give you all a quick update about what is going on with my progess on this challenge. This is my status as of now 22:00 11/02/2020.

The ones that have been built will hopefully receive a paint job over the next few days. As for maidens, so far the weather isn't playing nice so I only got to maiden the Hawk Hurrican by @mach1 rc. I do have a video of it and it was uploaded to my channel but still haven't been posted on the forum. I will post it on the dedicated thread that I have for this challenge but before I do I want to maiden it once more. I feel like I might not have fully got a feel for it so I don't want to review it before a second maiden either.

Next up is a new set of wings for my son's TT and either the FT Charlie or Paper Airplane. Unfortunetaly I can't build all the planes at once because I ran out of servos and is one of the things I hate donating from plane to plane.

The Triplane and Hexy are really nice, can't wait to see maidens! I need to do some updating of footage and things to close out the canard/plank plane entry, and I need to get the build log in for the tandem plane I've been working on the last couple days, which just need electronics. It's a separate entry from my tandem trainer, since it is a separate build, although it will be replacing that trainer and using its electronics. Hopefully this one doesn't have the wing rock issues and is more stable in pitch.

Really windy out today, so time to build more and fly another day.I have ordered my FT Vector kit and in the mean time, am about to start the four wing plane V2 as I finish up the new tandem. I have my new camera so I'm going to have to charge and test it so it's good to go when I maiden these planes.

Whenever I look at @mach1 rc s Hawker Hurricane, I see a slit in the wing that I dont see on my plans... What is it?
