That sounds awesome, I live in New Waterford, Ohio though. A bit of a drive. Lol. Have fun!
LOL JUST a little bit of a drive...
That's ok, though. Keep your eyes open, there are Maker Faires all over the world, and it's something really cool to go to. Some of the bigger ones have ongoing drone racing, and pull in some awesome makers, like Adam Savage of Mythbusters fame, or the Eepybirds, who first did the "Bellagio Fountains" display of Mentos & Coke and became a YouTube sensation.
Looks like there's several in Ohio happening in September - Akron, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Toledo, if you're interested; you can check it out at
http://makerfaire.com and then search by your state/location to see more details. Even the Mini Maker Faires can be beneficial, and if there's a rabid group of Makers, pretty soon you'll find it growing into a full on Maker Faire. And really, FT junkies who are making these planes? We are the very definition of Makers. We build and cobble something together from easily identifiable components, and we try to create something that is functional outside of store bought goods. We love kits and making our OWN kits, we want to wire up new power distribution boards and ESCs and understand the right power levels for our planes...
That's kind of what being a Maker is all about.
