F-22 Raptor Scratch Build

With a 500 3S maybe 10 or 12 mins? Pretty moderate throttle.

Thats really good. I'm using the same motor but with a 22amp esc, 7x4 prop. A 500 3s 20c pack only last like 4 minutes at 3/4 throttle. A 800 3s 40c pack last about 6 minutes. I'm going to have to check if I have some weak batteries.

My total flight weight is 14oz (394 grams) so I'm on the heavy side I believe.

Hey i have the parts for the f22 raptor and i was wondering. that when i go to land the plane. if i might break the propeller, because it could stop perpendicular to the plane or facing up in down. or will the propeller always stop the same way you put it on the plane. Also how thick of foam should i get for it.

Yeah the propeller might break. Use a prop saver!

A 1300mAh battery is sure heavy for a 50 cm wingspan F-22. I would use nothing bigger than a 800mAh, prob a 500mAh.

Sorry, missed your post :(

That is a great little motor! Run it with a 7x6 prop - but then you'll be pulling a bit more amps. With the RedBrick ESC's, it's best to go over the required numbers. The FC2812 will pull around 15 Amps with the 7x6 propeller, so I'd choose this ESC instead:

Now - that is a slightly larger motor than suggested, so you will need a slightly larger battery too. I'd pick this one:

That will make your Raptor a moderately easy to fly plane with plenty of power!

I'm currently running that same motor with a apc 7x6 prop. I'm using a 22amp ESC and it works fine for me. I Definetly would go with at least a 800 size battery! On a 500 I only get like 4 minutes of flite time with 3/4 throttle.

That motor and prop combo will send this plane verticle easily.

As far as the ESC colorex could be right with upping it, but I've also read only to go a couple of amps over the motors max amp draw, otherwise you can burn your motor up with too big of a ESC. But I'm still new at this and figuring things out myself. So read, read, read!
