you can burn your motor up with too big of a ESC

I don't think that's quite right... I thought the same some time ago, someone on the forum corrected me. The motor will only use as much current as it needs. You could run a 10Amp motor off of a 120 Amp ESC with no problems - as long as the voltage is the same.

Too big propeller is what burns your motor - and ESC too if it is too small.

Foam finally cut out! I really fail at cutting foam :p.

Sorry for the fail pictures. No good camera available atm.

Time to go buy some gray spray paint and black duct tape to decorate/smooth out my horrible cutting.

I know that feel, bro! I was cutting my FunBat and ripped the edge of the cut on the underside of what I was cutting.

Does sandpaper/sandingblock work well on $T foamboard with paper on? Also, going to slap 2 layers of $T foam board for the fuse. Should I peel off the paper inside, or just hot glue it as-is(with paper on)?

Sorry for all the questions, as this is my first scratchbuild :/

I my self did not peel it, I just glued the 2 pieces together with the paper on both sides. Sanding works ok with the paper on, but not great. When I did mine, I just used heavy duty packing tape to reinforce the wing. No carbon fiber of balsa.

You get less weight without the paper on the inside. I also think the joint will become better without the paper on.

It's never wrong to ask :D In fact, we encourage you to ask as much as you can!

Made mine out of dollar store foam and 3/8" insulation foam for the fuse.
It's the 24" version.

Has a Motrofly DM2205-1800 motor with a 8x4 DD prop & 3S 450 GenAce lipo,
I stole from my WM Park Flyer yak.

Went for a kind of coast guard theme. Will maiden it tomorrow.

Finished my airframe, waiting for all parts to come in. Pure White! I figured that I'll be crashing this a ton, since I haven't flown a hobby grade plane in years. Made with dollar tree foam board, and clear packing tape (non-reinforced, i don't know how it's going to handle :p).

Do TG9e servos strip easily? I heard that somewhere >.> . Bought some HXT900s because I heard they were good.

And will these pushrods work? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9887

1st plane setup:
Hextronic 24g 1300kv
500mah 3s lipo with JST connector
Hobbyking Red brick 20A esc
OrangeRX r610
Turnigy TG9e servos
"JXF 7x6 / 178 x 152.5mm Poly Composite propeller" or "APC Style Propeller 8x4"

2nd plane setup planned:
Turnigy nano-tech 1000mah 3s with XT60 connector
Turnigy Plush 30A ESC
OrangeRX r610
FC 28-12 Brushless Outrunner 1534kv
HXT900 servos
"JXF 7x6 / 178 x 152.5mm Poly Composite propeller"

Hope those setups will work! The second plane I plan to make will be painted and cut prettier (bought better tools @ HK)

TG9e's and HXT900's are almost the same, but the HXT900's are the trusted brand. Good choice! They might strip in a crash, but not in normal or stressful flight.

The pushrods you selected are a bit big, but they will work. You can always get piano wire at a hardware store to make your own pushrods.

Does the hextronic 24g 1300kv motor need a prop adapter?
Does this need one too? FC 28-12 Brushless Outrunner 1534kv

If they do, which ones will they need? I hate being so new and noob to this >.>

The 24gram motors come with a prop saver, so no adapter is needed.

The other motor will need a prop saver or adapter (prop saver preferred):

With this one you need to drill out the prop slightly:

Dang! But that's easily fixed :)

Thanks for the vibration mount article, I'll try that out with red silicon.
