I have a esc like that and it has a bec.

The easy way to tell if it has a BEC - plug in a motor, receiver, and battery. If the receiver doesn't start up (no status LED's), then there is almost certainly no BEC.

And if you have a receiver that doesn't have an LED to tell you it's on, and if you spend an hour or two trying to figure out why the ESC won't beep and the motor won't run, don't admit you're an idiot that didn't realize there was no BEC in the ESC to all your friends on the forums!
