The central section of the wing was built in foam and reinforced with two pieces of wood above and below. In addition, the dihedral reinforcements were glued.

The outer sections of the wing were glued using white glue.

At the bottom of the center section where the flap goes was removed to accommodate a piece of depron in its place.

The flexible push rods were made using guitar strings and coffee stirrers.

Each outer wing section has three push rods: aileron, flap and brake.

Once everything was in place and glued correctly, the wing was closed with another 2mm depron skin.

The landing gear housings were cut and the space was used to pass the flaps and brakes control rods for adjustment.

Something that could not be missing in this model were the holes for the flaps and brakes. To make them I first created a posrteboard template to ensure that they were all in place and that both wings were symmetrical.

With the help of a section of radio antenna, which I sharpened and added teeth with the dremel, I opened the holes in a simple way.

After a little paint, this is how it looks like.

Any updates? It looks amazing so far!
Hello folks!
The project is not stopped or dead, it is on pause for now. My new job doesn't leave me much free time and the only available flying zone in my city is closed by Covid since more than 6 months. This has really made me lose the desire to build because I can't fly.
I hope to return to the hobby soon.

Carlos a.ka. @cdfigueredo - lives in Cuba. He's probably concerned about other things besides this build. I sure hope things get better in Cuba soon.
Hello Dan!
U are right, things here are not really well. We have a ton of things to worry about besides.
But thanks god me and my family are all save and sound. I will be back to the building as soon as the flying field is open again.
Good thinkgs to u my friend!

Hello all!
I know it's been a while but here I am back with some exciting news!
Last Saturday was the inaugural flight of the SBD. Actually the model is not quite finished but I think I was putting a lot of effort into the details and I needed to know if it was going to fly, so I decided to try it out. The result was acceptable but too much control on the ailerons and very nose heavy.
These two elements caused a forced landing after entering an spin from which I was able to rescue him just a few feet above the ground. Unfortunately, it landed on the grass, tearing off the landing gear. Fortunately there was no additional damage.
Now that I know that it flies and I know what the necessary modifications are, I will proceed to finish the missing details and make the official maiden flight.
Here are some pictures:
